What people usually ask us.
- Do browsers still show the green bar?
- No. Since 2019 the major browsers have stopped showing the company name in the address bar for EV certificates; the information is still in the certificate details.
- How long does an EV certificate take?
- Longer than an OV: it usually takes several working days, depending on your paperwork and the certificate authority’s checks.
- How long is an SSL certificate valid for?
- Less and less. Under a CA/Browser Forum agreement, the maximum validity has been 200 days since 15 March 2026; it drops to 100 days in March 2027 and to 47 days in March 2029. That’s why DAEMON treats renewal and reissuance as a continuous process, not a once-a-year chore.
